Snowford Grange works with schools throughout the Midlands to ensure that both pupils and staff have access to essential mental health support and services. Our aim is to address the issues impacting their lives and enhance their ability to learn and work effectively.

Support for the Whole School Community.

Snowford Grange understand the increasing pressure schools face to provide affordable and sustainable mental health support for children and young people, while also trying to balance the well-being of their valued staff.

We have over 15 years of experience working alongside primary and secondary schools, as well as SEND provisions. We offer counselling support and supervision services to the whole school community. Our team of experienced counsellors is dedicated to delivering effective services that address the diverse needs of pupils, staff members, and parents alike. Having a dedicated, on-site counsellor in schools can significantly enhance pastoral care and support, fostering a nurturing environment for all pupils.

Our School-Based Counselling, Supervision and Support Services include:

The Benefits of Partnering with Snowford Grange.

Proven Experience Working with Schools.

Snowford Grange currently work in more than 60 primary and secondary schools across the Midlands, delivering over 15,000 counselling hours each year to children and young people. Additionally, more than 15 schools utilise our services for ongoing counselling support and supervision for staff coping with personal or work-related challenges.

Wide & Diverse Team of Counsellors.

We have developed a diverse team of over 40 qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. This enables us to assess your school’s needs and match them with the most suitable counsellor from our team—one who can provide support and foster positive change. Our counsellors bring a wealth of experience, training, and expertise. They are supported by highly experienced professionals who specialise in counselling for children and young people.

Consistent & Reliable Service.

With a large and experienced team of counsellors, Snowford Grange offers a consistent and accessible mental health support service to your school all year round. Over 95% of the schools we work with continue to partner with us, valuing our services and seeing a tangible improvement in the well-being of their children, young people, and staff across the school.

Holistic, flexible and Tailored Approach.

We believe in a customised approach rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, as each school has unique needs and budgets. We will listen to your requirements and tailor our services to meet them effectively. Whether your school needs just a few hours of dedicated pupil counselling each week or a more comprehensive service supporting both pupils and staff, our services are flexible and can be adjusted as your school’s needs evolve.

Value for money & Competitive Pricing.

We understand the financial challenges schools face regarding their budgets and the need for a sustainable service that aligns with their funding. That’s why we ensure our costs reflect this necessity. Our rates are highly competitive and sustainable, especially when compared to the vast majority of school-based counselling services. We are committed to providing exceptional value while ensuring that schools receive the support they need without compromising on quality

Managing Director: Steve Goodrem - MBACP DIP (Warwick)

After completing my training in counselling and psychotherapy at Warwick University, I began my career in the mental health sector. This experience highlighted the importance of early intervention, which led to the co-founding of Snowford Grange Counselling & Psychotherapy Ltd with my colleague, Helen. Over the past 15 years, we have seen our organisation grow steadily, reflecting our commitment to providing exceptional counselling services.

I have extensive experience collaborating with schools to promote the emotional well-being of children and young people. I also support school staff through counselling and supervision, addressing their mental health needs. My practice encompasses a diverse range of clients, including adults, children, and young people, across private practice, schools, and various workplace settings.

As a fully qualified clinical supervisor, I guide fellow counsellors and psychotherapists in maintaining ethical standards and prioritising their well-being. I also offer counselling and supervision services to staff in schools and workplaces, helping them navigate the emotional demands of their roles.

Additionally, I consult with counselling programmes to create placement opportunities for degree and MSc students. In this capacity, I serve as an industry advisor, ensuring that curricula meet the practical needs of the profession and adequately prepare students for successful careers in mental health.

My work focuses on enhancing emotional well-being, supporting practitioners, and fostering a culture of mental health awareness. I am dedicated to making a positive difference in people's lives and contributing to society in this meaningful way.

If you are seeking support or guidance with your mental health, I encourage you to make contact. Together, we can work towards enhancing your emotional well-being and achieving your goals.

“As a headteacher of 12 years I have been witness to the incredible impact that Snowford Grange has had on my schools and the pupils with whom I work. It has also been transformative for staff who always come back to me with the highest of praise for the counselling they have received. Staff absences have been dramatically reduced because teachers and teaching assistants  have had the option of accessing highly qualified, exceptional counsellors”

Joanne Herrero - Headteacher, Holy Trinity C of E Primary School
